Students who are under the legal driving age are welcome to join us provided they follow the guidelines listed below. The policy helps the student achieve better racing skills and often persons fitting this profile express the desire to race on a more than casual basis. Making a small mistake during a race and then investing the next few laps to catch back up is a worthy lesson over simply applying right foot pressure leveraging the huge power to weight advantage some students may have over adult racers. This process replicates an equal race in an equal car on any track as most racing series have a minimum weight limit including car plus driver.
The policy also helps us all celebrate league winners on an equal footing as any student who can race at the ballasted weight and achieve success will have done so by their driving merits rather than their body weight.
The student must have passed through the Allsport's training program or have raced in an accredited WKA series.
The student must be recommended to the league by Francois or Allsports management.
The student will be tested on track by league officials (this may require more than one session)
If the league officials believe the student posseses good control, race awareness, maturity, courtesy, and a good attitude they may grant him a waiver to race in the league
To race in the league the student will add ballast to achieve the weight set the league director. Placing the weight in the bases of the seat with the student sitting on top seems to be the best method.
Ballasted weight value will be set prior to the start of the season. Students participating in junior karts must weigh a minimum of 85 pounds including helmet and race suit.
Scales may be used to ensure ballasted weight is achieved. A 5 pound margin will be allowed.
